Water and Sanitation Program Manager Matt Lee discovered an old well in the community that no longer works. Learn how Nuru does things differently so that our wells are not only properly maintained, but involve the community so that they will last for the long haul.
It is sad to see broken wells out there, but it’s all too common. I recently spoke with an expert who works for a very well known water organization, and she shared about how shameful it is that organizations are now coming to villages and fixing wells that other organizations put in and have since broken. Stories like the one my new friend told me and the one you told in this video make me so grateful that at Nuru we’re putting the emphasis on working ourselves out of a job.
