Beginning today Nuru is on the road bringing the fight to end extreme poverty to a city near you. Nuru's National Tour departed from Morgantown, West Virginia this afternoon in a beat-up, old passenger van embarking on a 3 month, 20,000 mile, 50 city tour to catalyze a movement of hope to end extreme poverty in our lifetimes. Go to the Grassroots Page to check out their regular video and blog updates from the road, and check out the Nuru Calendar to see when they'll be coming to your town.
A focus of the tour is to spread the word about BH2O+ and sign-up colleges, universities and anyone else willing to walk in the shoes of women in the developing world. To receive updates on the Tour and BH2O+, sign-up for Nuru's eNews letter above.

Awesome! Looking forward to the chance of bringing BH20+ to Arizona State.
Please Please Please help!
WE ARE LOOKING FOR KNOWLEDGE.
(Although financial help is always appreciated.)
We will be DIGGING A DEEP WELL in Mberra Village, Kenya.
We know nothing about how or where to dig. We hope it will furnish water not only for our orphanage but also for the school next door & some of the surrounding community of Mberra Village, which is located 10 minutes from Isibania & the border of Tanzania.
I live in Texas but go twice a year to Kenya. We have a 30 year relationship with the family that runs the orphanage that was started in 2001. We are constantly bringing in more children & expanding the orphanage.
In the near future we will possibly start a school & will need teachers. We are not educators ourselves we just love these people & want to help. We’ve also purchased land a short distance from the orphanage that could be used for farming. With so many children to support we need to get them on the road to being self -sustained.
We will be returning to Kenya in March 2010.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Jimmye-
We encourage you and your team to partner with a well drilling organization that employs local workers and uses locally purchased materials and technology. This organization should also work with the community to not just drill a well, but identify and develop local leadership, train the community in waterborne disease prevention, and install mechanisms within the community to sustainably maintain the well and all their water sources. A partner that we work with is Living Water International (http://www.water.cc/). They have a number of resources that you may find helpful.
Doug, Thank You for your quick & helpful response. I contacted Living Waters International this morning.
Mberra Village is just down the road from your Kuria Headquarters. Would it be possible for us to send some of our Kenyan “family” to attend Nuru’s training meetings? The orphanage & the surrounding community could greatly benefit from Nuru’s training.
Thanks, Jimmye Houston
I just learned about Nuru recently and I think it’s awesome. Please please please send me more information on how I can bring BH2O to Seton Hall University. I really want this to happen for my school! Thank you
