Hi Vivian! My thoughts are with you!!….. :)
Hi,
Congratulations for that amazing job. I encourage you to keep working to overcome extreme poverty and achieve the Millenium Goals.
I already donate to your wonderful cause
Could you explain yourself more in dept what are the cutting edge technology appropriate farmer techniques?
Thank you
Andres
Andres,
Thank you for your kind words. Your continued support makes all of our success possible.
Nuru’s Agriculture Program has partnered with the One Acre Fund to bring innovative and effective farming techniques to our communities. We loan high quality, locally sourced seed, fertilizer, and top-dressing and then we train them efficient farming and harvesting methods. Those two elements alone can greatly increase their yields. An increased yield means more food to eat for their family and more money in their pocket.
Technologically speaking, an interesting recent innovation in our project has come from the use of basic mobile phones to collect data about our farmers. With this data, we can better determine the impact of our project. You can see a video about it here: http://www.nuruinternational.org/videos/nuruusesphonestoendextremepoverty.html
Thank you for your question. Should you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
From conception, to planning, to execution, to realization – WOW, what a journey.
In 2 shorts years, what impressive results from All fronts (all five programs).
You all have set the benchmark for the rest to follow. Be the light that shines brighter and brighter …
Hats off to all Nuru PMs and certainly its management team!
Have a happy, healthy, purposeful and fulfilled hoiday season.
All the best,
Teresa
